- I forgot my privacy PIN. Can you reset it?
For security reasons, I can't reset your password (I have no way of knowing if your request is legitimate or not, and I always err on the side of protecting your privacy). If you can't remember your password, you won't be able to retrieve your stored data, but you can reset Cash Tracker by uninstalling it and then re-downloading it from the App Store. - I have a feature request
Great! I'd love to hear it. - What are the Tag fields for?
The Extras page includes two Tag fields that you can use for whatever you like. Use them to keep track of different billable projects, tax-deductible expenses, or expenses that require special attention. - Do I have to use sub-categories?
No, sub-categories are optional. If you prefer, you can use only categories, or a mix of categories and sub-categories.
Currency and mileage
- How many currencies can I have?
Cash Tracker includes several built-in currencies, but you can add as many as you like. - What is the "home" currency?
Whatever currency you use most often is your home currency. Exchange rates are calculated based on your home currency, and it's the currency that's used in your reports. - How does mileage work?
Cash Tracker includes the ability to keep track of mileage, in either miles or kilometers. You can review your mileage by selecting a Mileage report type. - How do I add a new currency?
To add a new currency, go to the Spend tab and tap on the currency button (by default, it's labelled "US $"). Tap the plus button at the bottom of the screen. - How do I change the home currency?
Go to the Spend tab and tap on the currency button. Tap the blue arrow next to the currency that you want to set as your home currency, then tap the "Set as home currency" button.
Reports and budgets
- How do I customize my report?
Tapping on the info button next to the date lets you customize your report. - What are the report filters for?
The filters allow you to view only certain kinds of transactions. So for example, you could filter your report to show only purchases you made with your credit card, or only transactions in Euros. - Can I budget on a bi-weekly basis?
No, but bi-weekly budgeting is coming. In the meantime, you can change your budget period by tapping the info button at the top of the Budget tab.
